Can Arsene pull out a Diego Costa?

Is that you Arsene?
The rumours started sipping into the 'twitter-sphere' about 3 days ago - Arsenal scouts at Atletico Madrid looking out for Diego Costa.

Wonder if it ever crossed your mind that the scouts may be there for something or someone else? A youth player perhaps? I think the glaring need for another striker to prevent Giroud from collapsing may have fuelled this rumour.

However, the thought of Diego Costa to Arsenal, although not as titillating as the Suarez or Cavani rumours, isn't an unwelcome idea. The striker is versatile as he can play on the wings and as a forward plus, he has been an assassin in-front of goal for Atletico Madrid with about 21 goals to his name in just 16 matches, that's almost three times Giroud's tally.

Just allow yourself to fantasize a little bit...

Diego Costa feeding of Ozil and Ramsey's assists, even Giroud's assists if we ever play two upfront.

Orgasmic aye?

But it's all left to be seen. Atletico are doing pretty well at the moment and share points with Barcelona and are a good five points ahead of Real Madrid. Would you sell Diego Costa if you were Atletico and in the fight to stay in Champions League football?

That's the question I ask myself when I'm bombarded with these rumours.

Diego Costa to Arsenal might not be impossible, nuts! Wenger stunned us with Ozil. However, the timing doesn't seem or feel right. Hopefully a fit Podolski, Walcott, Chamberlain and Serge can give us the much needed bite while we wait till the summer window for maybe Diego Costa...Suarez?

What do you think?
