Published 4th July 2013 By ArsenalSupremo

Didier Drogba returned to haunt Arsenal yet again as 2 goals form the former Chelsea player condemned Arsenal to their first Pre season tour defeat. Arsenal led with a first half goal from Theo Walcott but in the second half Arsenal conceded a soft penalty as Drogba went down easy in the penalty box with a slight knock from Miquel. He easily sent Szczesny the wrong way to get the scores level. In the 88 minute Wesley Sneijer provided Drogba with a brilliant assist and scored his second goal of the game to seal the win the Turkish side.

The boss Arsene Wenger spoke  after the game spoke to media.

“Drogba did well when he came on,” the boss told the post-game press conference.

“He still has the resources, you could see that yesterday as well. He has kept that physical strength and his intelligent game and he finished well.

“I must say we were exhausted in the end, especially Mertesacker who played the two full games and was just back from Asia.

“He [Drogba] took advantage of it. Honestly the penalty was very, very, very, very, very, very soft! It was classic Drogba.

On the subject of transfers Wenger confirmed that Roma and Crystal Palace would be taking Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh off our books.

Arsenal Supremo Verdict : The lack depth to the squad showed in this match and I hope that before the transfer window closes Arsene Wenger must buy quality players so that we can challenge for trophies and more importantly the Premier League.

News : Gervinho looks set to join Roma and official confirmation in the coming days.
