Liverpool U21's 3 Arsenal U21's 2 : Extended Match Highlights

10th April 2013 By ArsenalSupremo

Wojciech Szczesny started for the Arsenal U21's but was unable to prevent the young guns from falling to a 3-2 defeat to the hands of Liverpool on Monday the 8th of April 2013. It was a great match to watch with plenty of goals as Liverpool struck with a goal from Adam Morgan (24) but Chuba Akpom continued his fine run of form with a quick fire equalizer (26). On the hour mark of the game Krisztian Adorjan restored the home team lead (61) however a stunning goal form Gnabry yet again got the scores level at 2-2.

There were a few chances for both sides after and the result could of gone either way but in the 76th minute, Adorjan burst down the right crossed it into the area for Morgan to score and win the match for Liverpool

Although the young guns lost yet again Serge Gnabry proved yet again that he's a future first team player with another great goal. Rumors in Spain are suggesting that Arsenal will link up with Real Betis as the deal looks to loan Arsenal young players to Real Betis.  If this happens Gnabry could get valuable experience playing abroad and could come back to Arsenal a ready made first team player.

Match Highlights : Arsenal Young Guns out of NextGen Series after 4 3 defeat to Chelsea after extra time

29th March 2013 By ArsenalSupremo

Arsenal failed in their quest to lift the NextGen Series title as they were defeated 4-3 after extra time in a thrilling tie against Chelsea. It was a superb performance for the Arsenal young guns as they battled their way from 3-1 down then 2 goals in the last 5 minutes pulled it back to 3-3 with a fantastic goal from German sensation Gnabry to level the score.

However in extra time Arsenal players began to tire and in the 116 minute Lewis Baker’s strike sealed their passage to the finals and they now play Aston Villa while the Arsenal have to play Sporting Lisbon to settle third place.

The pitch was horrendous to play on out there in Italy which didn't suit both teams nevertheless the game was still very entertaining. It was really tough to watch the match live at the end of the game after seeing the all the effort they put in they showed great determination and most of all they should be proud of what they have achieved getting here in the first place defeating the likes of Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and CSKA Moscow.

Despite the loss it was a tremendous effort from the talented youngsters, we did see some stars of the future that could become 1st team regulars in the future hopefully. The one with the best chance of doing so in my opinioin is Serge Gnabry. Who do you think could make it feel free to leave your comments below.

Arsenal Starting 11 : Iliev, Bellerin, Hayden, Hajrovic, Angha (Ormonde-Ottewill, 67), Olsson, Ebecilio (Maitland-Niles 105), Yennaris, Eisfeld (Ansah 67), Gnabry, Akpom

Subs not used: Vickers, Iwobi, Mugabo, Jebb

Goals: Akpom (2), Gnabry

Booked: Hayden, Gnabry

Chelsea Starting 11 : Beeney; Christensen, Davey, Pappoe, Wright; Loftus-Cheek (T Musonda 70), Boga (Swift 75), Baker; Kiwomya, Feruz, Nditi (Hunte 40)

Subs not used: Killip, Dabo, Conroy, Colkett

Goals: Feruz, Baker (2), Boga

Booked: Christensen, Pappoe

Twitter Reaction from the Players

Terry Burton the coach spoke of his disappointment losing in the semi finals

"A semi-final is a horrible place to lose a game and you struggle to take positives out of the game right now. But I'm sure when we look back on it, we'll see there were some excellent individual performances."

Arsenal 1 CSKA Moscow 0 : Arsenal young guns through to the Semi Finals of the NextGen Series : Match Highlights now up!

25 March 2013 By ArsenalSupremo

ARSENAL Line Up (4-2-3-1) Iliev; Bellerin, Hajrovic, Hayden, Angha; Yennaris, Ebecilio Olsson, Gnabry, Eisfeld Akpom.

CSKA MOSCOW Line Up (4-4-2): Revyakin; Karavaev, Adams, Polyutkin, Kotov; Efremov, Ambartsumyan, Bavin, Seredin; Bazelyuk, Khurtsidze.

On a chilly night at the Emirates Arsenal produced a fantastic display and sealed their passage to the Semi Finals of the NextGen series after beating CSKA Moscow 1-0 after a well worked goal from Arsenal and finished off from Serge Gnabry in the 56th minute.

Watching the game live on Arsenal.com I was really impressed with all of the players as they controlled most the game. They worked hard and pressed the team when it had to be done which limited CSKA to a small amount of chances which mostly was long ranged shots at goal. Gnabry and Eisfeld showed glimpses of their talent and could make their step up into the first team really soon if they keep progressing the way they have been. Other players that deserve a mention was the full backs Martin Angha and Bellerin they were not frightened to go forward and showed great technical ability.

Arsenal booked an all-London semi-final against Chelsea this Friday. It promises to be a great game for sure!
