Arsenal 2 Napoli 2 : Match highlights with match reaction from Wenger, Wilshere and Giroud

Arsenal kicked off their first game of the Emirates Cup with a 2 2 draw over Italian side Napoli in an entertaining game at the Emirates. It was a slow start from Arsenal and they quickly found themselves 2 goals down. First half goals from Lorenzo Insigne and Goran Pandev gave Napoli the first half lead which lead to boo's ringing around the Emirates.

However a spirited Arsenal fightback from the Gunners saw Giroud score a bicycle kick to half the deficit then in the 86th minute Koscielny was able to head home to equalize for the Arsenal. In the other game in the Emirates Cup Galatasaray beat Porto 1 0.

Arsenal: Fabianski; Jenkinson (Sagna), Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Ramsey, Wilshere; Gnabry (Walcott), Rosicky, Podolski; Giroud.
Subs not used: Martinez, Miquel, Zelalem

Scorers: Giroud 71, Koscielny 85.

Napoli: Reina; Mesto, Cannavaro, Britos, Armero; Behrami, Inler, Hamsik, Insigne, Callejon (Maggio, 46); Pandev (Higuain, 46).
Subs not used: Rafael, Dossena, Mertens, Zuniga, Dzemaili, Fernandez, Radosevic, Albiol, Calaio.

Scorers: Insigne 7, Pandev 29

Arsene Wenger spoke to the match reporter after the game and refused to be drawn on whether Arsenal will be making any big money transfers before the transfer window shuts. 


Jack Wilshere spoke to BT Sport on the game and his fitness ahead of the new Premier League Season 


Goalscorer Olivier Giroud gave his post match reaction to the game and insists he is not scared of competition if Arsene Wenger brings in a new striker



Next up for Arsenal in the Emirates Cup is a match with Galatasaray and the return of former Arsenal player Emmanuel Eboue. Tomorrow we will bring you all the action from the game but below enjoy the match highlights of todays game. COYG

In the Premier League Laurent Koscielny & Per Mertesacker have gone unbeaten when this defensive pairing has played for Arsenal this season. This is now our first choice pairing does this mean the end for Thomas Vermaelen? Surely he is not going to stick around knowing he won't get the playing time he needs.

Interview : Laurent Koscielny previews Fulham vs Arsenal

ArsenalSupremo brings you up to date video's with the Arsenal player and today is the turn of Laurent Koscielny who talks about the upcoming Premier League tie with Fulham. In the previous match Arsenal could of gone 4 points clear ahead of their North London rivals but couldn't get the vital goal which saw Giroud miss some decent chances to take the lead but the defender believes he can respond back at Fulham. 

"The first year is the most difficult for foreign players because we don't know English football. I think he's adapted very well in this country and he will be better and better for next season.

"He's OK after the," added Koscielny. "He's a professional. He had some opportunities to score for the team but I think he will be ready to score on Saturday against Fulham."

Laurent also stated Arsenal should look out for Fulham danger man Dimitar Berbatov and must quiet him quiet in the game as much as possible. He is their top scorer with 13 goals for the club.

“He's a danger every time for the defender. [You have to decide] which player goes with him. Sometimes I go with him, sometimes my midfielder takes Berbatov. It's just communication on the pitch.”
