Interview : Gibbs gives his match reaction to Arsenal's 4 1 win against Wigan

17th May 2013 by Gordon @Arsenal_Supremo

After the game Kieran Gibbs spoke to Arsenal.com after the crucial win against Wigan where 3 goals in 8 minutes sealed the win and relegated Wigan at the same time. Gibbs spoke about the great character shown from the team and pleased the way the Gunners are performing.

We had to be patient. When we came in at half time we had to stay focused and [we knew] we still had 45 minutes to win the game. We took our chances and picked the right moments to get them on the counter-attack.

“The fact it has gone down to the wire again shows just how competitive this league is. In January people were saying we were not supposed to be [in the top four].

“The way the squad has stuck together this season and never given up is credit to them and I believe we deserve nothing more than to be where we want to be.

Interview : Wojciech Szczesny says Spurs lack quality to finish above Arsenal

6th May 2013 by Gordon @Arsenal_Supremo

Wojciech Szczesny spoke after the hard fought 1 0 win at QPR to continue their push for the Champions League places. Theo Walcott scored the fastest goal in the Premier League this season scoring after just 20 seconds and Szczesny was full of praise for the player which you can see in the interview below.

He also had a dig at Arsenal's North London Rivals Spurs who he claims lack quality to finish above Arsenal.

“I only found out after the game that they had won 1-0 but I don’t think it matters really.

“If we win our next two games it will be enough because either Chelsea or Spurs will drop points because they play each other.

“If you look at Chelsea’s fixtures, they have Tottenham and Everton left and they won’t be easy games.

“And Tottenham do not have enough quality, so there you go...”

Interview : Santi Cazorla give us his thoughts on his season so far

2nd May 2013 by ArsenalSupremo

Santi Cazorla spoke to the official Arsenal website on his first season at Arsenal, he spoke about why he has adapted quickly to the Gunners style of play and the Premier League.

"It’s been very good," Cazorla told Arsenal Player. "I’m enjoying the atmosphere here, especially the warmth shown by the Arsenal fans, which I didn’t expect to receive from day one.

"The club and my team-mates did a lot to help me settle in. Being new, coming into a different culture and not speaking the language is always difficult.

"But Arsenal made me feel part of everything right from the off, as if I’d been part of the side for years, and this was reflected in my performances on the pitch. I felt at home and I played well. But you can always improve.

Inconsistency at the start of the season cost Arsenal are a shot of being in contention for the Premier League but with the Arsenal recent good run of form ever since that 2 0 win over Bayern Munich Sant Cazorla believes the Gunners are on the up and consistency of results are getting better.

Now we’re a lot more consistent and that’s the form we were lacking before - being consistent and getting the three points whenever we could. We’re a long way off the top because of this lack of form, even though it was only for half the season.

"The aim is to win trophies. Unfortunately Arsenal has gone eight years without a trophy, which is a long time for such a huge club that’s always up there fighting with the other big clubs.

"This year we haven’t been able to, for various reasons. We got far in both the FA Cup and the League Cup but it wasn’t to be. I hope next year will be another story. We want to be fighting for the Premier League and all the tournaments we enter. We’re a great team and I’m sure we will."

Wojciech Szczesny reacts to the 1 1 draw with Manchester United

30th April 2013 By Gordon @Arsenal_Supremo

Wojciech Szczesny spoke after the draw to Manchester United and is still confident that Arsenal can finish in the top 4, despite getting off to a great start against the newly crowned champions but only until a costly mistake from Sagna cost Arsenal all three points.

"I'm confident that we will be [in the top four]," he said. "We've got three games. I believe if we get nine points, we should be in a good position to finish in the top four, hopefully in third position.

"At this point of the season, it doesn't really matter who we play because I don't think the game against Wigan will be any easier than the game against Manchester United.

"Wigan are fighting relegation, QPR will play for their pride and Newcastle on the last day of the season is not exactly an easy game as well.

What are your opinions on the game? Is it time for Sagna to leave the club after another inconsistent performance? What did you make of Podolski upfront? Nacho Monreal looks ahead to the tie against Manchester United

25th April 2013 by Gordon @ArsenalSupremo

Robin Van Persie is due to return to the Emirates for the first time since his shock move to Manchester United in the summer but Arsenal new signing Nacho Monreal knows the importance on not to focus on the one player. Here is what he had to say to www.arsenal.com

“Teams like Manchester United don’t just have gifted wingers, they have a squad with a lot of depth,
their players are of the highest level, you can’t just focus on one player because their team is full of    players who can create and score.”

“We must be on our guard and be aware of certain key players, like Robin, who has scored a sack of goals this year and is playing well. He is one of their main threats.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on Arsenal's recent good run of form.

13th April 2013 By ArsenalSupremo

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain spoke to the Arsenal Player about Arsenal's recent good form and is looking to build on the momentum created. The Gunners have now won the last 6 out of the 7 Premier League games and Oxlade-Chamberlain expects to end the campaign on a huge high.

When you get on a winning streak, you start to go into games thinking that you are going to win - that is the self-belief you create.

“You know it will be a tough game, but once you have that winning mentality you really believe in yourself a lot more.

Tomas Rosicky has been a fine run of form and scored 2 goals against West Brom Alex says he can learn off Rosicky on and off the pitch.

“When you look at central midfielders and you have someone who can run with the ball it changes the dynamic of the game massively,” he told Arsenal Player. “Jack can do that, when he picks the ball up and drives at defences it changes the game.

Pre Match Build Up : Arsene Wenger on the Bayern Munich game

Arsene spoke ahead of the 2nd leg tie with Bayern Munich which Arsenal lost the first leg 3 1 and need 3 goal without reply to have a chance of going through to the next round.

It will need a faultless performance at the Allianz Arena but he believes a positive mental attitude can give his players a fighting chance."We’re chasing the game in a very difficult environment against a team that has no doubts at all,"

"We just have to convince ourselves that we can do it in Munich as well. Yes, the chance is small, but the chance makes the impossible possible. That would be a great credit for our team to do it. We have to try to achieve it."

Injury news ahead of the game revealed on twitter by Bayern Munich Frank Ribery won't be playing due to an  ligament injury. They will be also with the suspended Boateng & Schweinsteiger which gives the Arsenal a bit more hope that the impossible is still possible. COYG!
